Resort, also known as Cruise season is dedicated to those of us travelling between mid-January through May. Fabrics are lighter, more colourful, with plenty of patterns and great beachwear options. Fashion designers usually base their collections on a theme, subject or place. For 2012, Michael Kors chose scubadivers, Dior looked to flapper girls and BCBG Max Azria was all about Seventies Boho-chic.
When one thinks about Italian architecture, places like the Roman Pantheon, the Venetian basilica of San Marco, the Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Florence and the Milan Cathedral obviously come to mind. But if Italy produced stunning architecture during Antiquity and the Renaissance, it seems that there is still a place for creativity and new constructions throughout the country. Indeed, since the beginning of the twenty-first century a great number of important buildings by famous architects have shot up in Rome, Milan and Florence, as well as in some smaller Italian towns.
Italian weddings can be big. The bigger and fatter, the better, it would seem. Though each one is driven by a budget of its own, Italian weddings, even when modest, are lavish. As wedding season looms, brides- and grooms-to-be are planning what might well be the biggest bash they’ll ever throw in their lifetime: their wedding party. And just as overloaded love birds scratch off another item from their to-do lists, questions of etiquette invariably arise. Wedding etiquette, you say? Although a fundamental consideration, it often gets lost in the labyrinth of wedding planning.

It’s a phone call you never dream to receive. Your doctor’s secretary calls to reschedule an appointment with you after receiving results of preliminary tests you performed a week before. So you ask ”Why? Is there something abnormal with the results of my scan?” The famous line she responds is, of course, “Unfortunately, I am not authorized to reveal this information, you’ll just have to come in and see the doctor.” Your heart stops as you put down the phone and the waiting game begins. One automatically assumes the worst; “What if the results signal a malignant tumour is manifesting within my body? What will happen to me next?”

An architect by profession, Pizzigoni is known as well for his artistic drive.
Fashion is without a doubt one of the most popular symbols of Italian excellence around the world. For centuries, Italy has been a trendsetter and the home of the best-known haute couture designers. Apart from adding to the glamour of red carpet events, Italian designers have also expressed their love for the arts by dressing some of the most famous characters in ballet, in theatre and opera. Luciano Pavarotti, Carla Fracci, Montserrat Caballé, Katia Ricciarelli and Joaquin Cortes are just a few names on the list.

I met Tamara Andruszkiewicz in her favorite restaurant, CavaTappi, a small bar tucked away in Campo della Guerra, not far from Piazza San Marco in Venice. At CavaTappi Tamara is clearly a regular costumer: it is noticeable by the way she enters this classy bar and is followed by her new dog, Ginger.
